Full Car to Mexico from San Francisco a bad idea?

Depends on the vehicle: Unless you are going in a large SUV or full sized passenger van, 5 people plus the luggage & surfboards, etc. would be too many people for comfort or safety on a long drive.

Depends on the personalities - how well everyone gets along: I agree with Jane S. Someone else's music or cooling (windows down vrs air conditioner on) preference can create hell on earth. So if you go with so many people, bring earplugs.

I hope there are other girls going besides you! If not maybe you should consider staying home and let the guys have a guys weekend. Two cars would be best, especially since you need to go through customs. They may pull you over if the car is too full.

Four in a car can either be great or not depending on snoring, farting, getting along and music choices. If two cars are taken there's double the amount of money spent on gasoline. Weigh the negatives and positives to decide. Me? I'd go in a separate car! Good luck!

P.S. I JUST remembered so added this...I went on a roadtrip skiing once and the driver (who claimed driver dibs on music) listened to the same damned CD over and over and OVER again. One CD the ENTIRE TRIP! I wanted to scream.

Teach him a lesson. Go ahead and take 1 car, but feed everybody a load of beans the night before. . . .

if you take one car on your way back everyones gonna think your illegal immigrants so just stay at home and let the other people get arrested.
