i dont have one either, mostly because if i had a 'little' black dress it would not fit me!!!!!!!!!

Also because i dont really go anywhere that requires one.

I do have a happy life though regardless of these two facts.

Its hardly surprising that some women dont own things like this.

I have a little black dress, but i personally think it is now a little outdated.

When was the last time i saw a women actually wearing a black dress?

Alot of women these days perfer to dress far more to suit their personality than to dress like what everyone else has in their wardrobe too!

The LBD is only a staple item if you live a lifestyle where having one (or a few) black dresses is handy. I have a few--and honestly, they are perfect for those "I can't be bothered to think too hard on what to wear" days and especially the "I feel like crap and no matter what I wear I'm going to feel like I look like crap so keep it simple" times.

The beauty of the LBD is that you can change the accessories and it isn't quite so glaringly obvious that you're wearing the same dress you've worn a zillion other times.

But it's not a crime to not own one; certainly not a crime not to want one! And, if I were younger; I'd put mine with chunky boots too! Whatever you wear, it's gotta feel like you. I wore a pink suit once--looked way too mother of the bride for me. That very expensive thing now hangs in my closet--to expensive to throw away; too "not me" to ever wear again.

I have several. I think it is a classic look that will never go out of style. Everyone has their own style, so I am sure you have one that is fine it just doesn't include this particular variant. The beauty of LBD's is that you can accessorize them with any colours you want so they can always look like a different look. There are lots of dresses in all sorts of colours in the shops now for the coming festive season and I am sure that a lot of us will be wearing whatever colours we like and that suit us and our mood.I can feel glamorous in an LBD, but just as special in a bright turqouise or an electric blue dress. Be yourself, there is no need to follow convention if you don't want to.

As others have mentioned, it's not exactly a staple anymore.

That said, they are convenient to have in your wardrobe as a back-up...

    - it can be dressed down for a less formal occasions (work functions, drinks after work, dinner with your new boyfriend's parents-just not too little!!)

    - dress it up for formal occasions (dinner functions etc) where perhaps a bright fuchsia dress may not be entirely appropriate.

Ultimately, you know what suits you and your personality best, and if that's not a little black dress, well you'd probably look uncomfortable wearing one if you didn't want to and end up thinking that maybe you should've stuck to fuchsia! :)

no, i dont own that little black dress. I havent got a lot of black garments anyway, except for a pair of trousers and a few tops.

I think a black dress is rather dull. Whatever happened to colours and print?

I think so. I don't have a classic LBD, but as black is so often found, I do have black dresses (in the same way as I have black trousers, socks, skirts...). I don't go mad for them like some other women do though! I'd rather wear colour.

no I don't have a little black dress. I would like to have one. I have not yet found THE dress

Nope, I'm the same, all of my dresses are colourful and I love dresses with different coloured patterns. I don't buy black dresses or clothes as I find them bland and boring. Plus they look too harsh against my complexion.

I never wanted one. Thought the whole idea a bit crazy.

But I have to admit, when I saw this cute little black dress in the store window, I fell in love with it. I bought it and drove my fella crazy with it.

I have to say, it certainly gives you a buzz, that little black dress.

    Sorry.

    xx
