Where I live there is an Islamic center down the street from us. They do their thing and don't bother anyone. Most of them are here because they don't like what is going on over there. They run restaurants, real estate companies, work in banks, auto dealers and any other occupation just like you and me. We even have them on city government. The pose no threat to us or our way of life.

Yeah, Muslims can and do make excellent Americans. Your suggestion that they can't because they follow Islam has no merit. Nowhere in the Koran does it say "Thou shalt not be American". You can't look at Islam and decide all its followers are identical. Just look at Christians. Not all of them follow all of the rules all the time. Muslims are much the same, especially those living in America. You assume that all Muslims are the extremist uber religious type; I doubt you've ever met one in your life.

I live in a section of the country that has a lot of Muslims and Hindus and am always struck by the way they blatantly refuse to participate in our culture right down to the way they choose to do business only within their own communities thus, putting money back into their own pockets almost exclusively.
