Left Leg and Right Arm Pain and Numbness?

I've been having chest pain and racing heart beat for the past week. Then two nights ago my left leg started going numb and the next morning my right arm felt like someone was cutting off circulation to it feeling cold and clamy to the touch. I went to the doctors and they did an EKG and X-ray to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack and everything came up perfect. They gave me some serious pain killers but it only got rid of the pain in my chest and all not the pain or numbness feeling in my arm. I'm 22 with low blood pressure not really any stress. Any idea's what might be going on?!

Try a neurologist, my arm pain was caused by a pinched nerve, I had neck surgery 3 months ago and am now pain free. My symptoms were pain and numbness from the top of my shoulder to my fingers on the right arm/hand. I hope this helps. Also, get a second opinion.

  • Hi there. Definitely go back to the doctor, but a different doctor for a second opinion. Did they do blood work - Thyroid - Diabetes - Cholesterol? Did they look for pinched nerves? Did they put you on the treadmill? I would question the pain killers if there was no injury because they are meant to mask the pain and not treat the problem. If you make an appointment with another doctor, you might want to ask them if you should stop taking the pain killers 24-48 hours before the exam. And write it all down! And question everything they do. You might look like a hypochondriac but it is your body and you know your body better than they do. Just because they are the doctor does not mean they are always right.

    Good luck! God Bless.

Obviously this is not normal, if the condition persists don't wait return to the ER for additional tests and demand an answer as to what could be causing this.
