What Current Braves Have a Shot at the Hall of Fame?

Smoltz is a lock. 200 wins, 150 saves, soon to have 3000 k’s and loved by the media. 8 time all star and cy young winner. No Doubt.

Bobby Cox is also a lock. He is a 4 time Manager of the Year winner. Fourth winningest manager of all time and responsible for signing some of the main members of the Braves dynasty as General Manager. Loved by all of the players that have played for him, and by the community. No doubt a future hall of famer.

Chipper should be a lock. He is the greatest offensive 3b of his era, if you count Arod as a short stop. One of the top 5 third baseman offensively all time, and top 5 switch hitter. His defense was a problem at one point but has matured and has a shot at a gold glove this year. An MVP, 5 time all star, 3 time Silver Slugger winner, and offensive leader of one the greatest dynasties in modern history. A great shot at 500 HR, 1600 RBI, and has a lifetime avg. of .307.

Although most people don’t think of him John Schuerholz should also make the Hall. Has two World Series rings and maintained the greatest streak in sports history of 14 consecutive division titles. Considered the greatest general manager of this era by most and greatest of all time by many.

Andruw Jones will have to add to his homerun total due to his low lifetime batting average, but should make it because of his 9 (soon to be 10) gold gloves and being considered as the greatest defensive center fielder since Mays.

Edgar Renteria will make it if he can reach certain milestones such as 3000 hits.

As for Teixeira, Francoeur, and McCann it’s too early to tell, but all should have a shot if they stay healthy.

Chipper and Smoltz are defiently going to the hall of fame. I also think that Teixeira has a great chance to if he stays healthy and puts up the numbers he has been putting up the last two years. Francoeue and McCann need to step it up if they want a shot at the Fame cause it doesn't look like they will make it right now. And Cox will make it to the fame because he has had much sucess even though he has not had much sucess in the postseason. He has always created winning teams, he has rarely had a below 500 team.

Chipper Jones--not in yet, but very close. still has a few years left.

Andruw Jones--(he's not gone yet)not in yet but is still only 30. has a shot for 600 career HRs, which would definitely put him in. all those Gold Gloves help.

McCann, Teixera, Francoeur--still way too early to tell. I'd rate McCann with the best shot, if he puts up numbers like that for 10 years or so, he'll be among the leaders in all the time categories for catchers. Francoeur has the worst chance of these 3, he's a good solid player but not even a very good player yet, much less great.

Edgar Renteria--no one thinks of him, but he's only 32 and has a very legit shot at 3000 hits and 500 doubles and over 1000 RBIs, very good numbers for a very solid SS. also has 2 Gold Gloves and is a 5 time all star, plus he had a game winning hit in World Series Game 7. I just looked it up at baseballreference.com, through his age, he's compared to guys like Derek Jeter, Ryne Sandberg, and Robin Yount, 2 of whom are in the HOF and of course Jeter will be in.

Obviously, John Smoltz and I believe that Chipper Jones also has a chance of making the Hall of Fame.

Smoltz is a shoo-in, Chipper should be, especially if he adds another 100 HR's (He's only 35, if he plays another 5 or 6 years, it should be no problem). Cox is a problem, since he only won one title, despite all the postseasons.

The others are too young to say anything about at this stage.

I would say Chipper Jones and John Smoltz.

smoltz is gurantee first ballot the man has 200+ wins and 100+ saves great career chicpper has been one of the best thirdbaseman of his era andruw jones is young but his numbers are climbing preety quick ofocurse manager bobby cox will make it as far as tiixera francour and mcmann they are all stars and could have great careers but it to early to tell alot of guy start off with a few great seaosns and neevr really go form there

I definitely think Bobby Cox should go in as a manager.

Smoltz has the best shot of course, all others need some other measurement of success.
