I a bit ashamed of a sparring session turned ko !!?

I feel bad about knocking this kid out cold, he is the current Indiana State Supermiddle Weight Champ. I happened to fly back home this weekend to take care of my father's estate sale, he died about a year ago. I went through some of his stuff and found my Indiana state title I won in 1981, it still had the four diamond studs inbeded on each corner, along wit the gold medalion in the center.

It brung tears to my eyes knowing my dad held on to this belt I gave him the night I turned pro and signed on with Stelko Pro Management outa Fortworth, TX. I finished packing and sorting some thing s and decided to go to my old stomping grounds. I went to the gym where I met my ole coach and trainer, to make a long story short, I asked could I do some sparring , you know to test out his stable. He joked about me being over the hill and his guys would send me to the ER. I should him my old state title and he couldn't believe his eyes I still held on to it. He told me he had a surprise of his

Update:

own, he called this well built fellow about 22 yrs old to the ring side. He goes, ike this the next super middle weight champ and your in his house. the kid displayed his title to me , boldly showing it off.

I told him, you just make sure you wear as well as I did. Coach told me to give the kid a few pointer's, but the cocky little fool started calling me all kind of disrespectful names as I began to glove up. He wanted to go at it with no head gear, so I went for it.

I thought ,what the hell it's just a 3 rounder. i started out just poping some good jabs at him, he tried to hook me to the body off the ropes and got caught with a uppercut. Flat on his azz he went, well it wasn't a sparring session any longer. He went full out, I glanced at coach who nodded his head. The kid started throwing hard shot's to my arms and body, I decided it was time to end this sh**t. I stepped to the left and caught him with to clean hooking head shot's, I stepped out the way and came in soild right

Update 2:

to the face, followed by left hook to the jaw. he went down hard. The coach was cussing and what not. I ran over to him to help bring him around. Well anyway his jaw was broke, I was asked to leave the gym, I knew it was because the coach was mad that he allowed the session to go on. Should I feel bad for what I did, even tho I have years of world class experience under my belt? What would you guys have done? I really feel bad about putting him on the shelf .....

Don't trip on it Ike! Sometimes we go through emotional things that take us back in time and it was quite obvious that you're Dad played a major role during your fighting career. If he kept that belt after all them years then you followed through with fulfilling his dreams too. We all get cocky when we are young and accomplish big things, especially as an athlete. You must have learned a lot from making mistakes like that kid did throughout your career, but you grew up! The kid needed a discipline lesson and you gave it to him. Believe me sooner or later he'll respect you for what happen when he realizes his own faults, like mouthing off and all that.

It's not your fault that you still have potential of knocking mother ******* out. Let it go man. Fish

Hell no man you did what i would do, you were in a fight (boxing i know but none the less its still fighting its either you or him) i know that you had the experience but he had the mouth. I look at it as him learning a hard lesson. Maybe some day he will learn never to disrespect his elders huh!

Don't worry about it,man! He put the gloves on with you and dissed you from the start. It was fair and square.Just because you're still a good boxer, don't feel like you messed with them. They're the ones who agreed to let you in the ring.I say "get on with your badself" and don't let it bug you, man.Good K.O.!!

I think you should be ashamed because the kid was probably taking easy on you, and you took it serious... I think thats what you where trying to get at.
