it depends how big and tall you are. You do not want to get a 125 if you weigh in at 200 pounds. It also depends how much you are willing to spend. A GOOD used bike will run around 3500 dollars. Of course there are less expensive bikes out there, and the 3500 is an average.

Best idea of what to do is shop around, do not buy the first bike you see....

Good luck, motocross can be a very fun sport.....

well it does depend on your age, you wouldent find most adults riding a 85 or whatever. it also depends on your skill level. if you are new to the sport, dont race yet!!! but if you have rode around for a few months you should be great and know what you need! even when you go looking for a new bike, you can look on KSL they have some really good bikes on there! and if you go into a store they can help you find the right bike for you and if the price it not right there, then look other places, and after you have help with knowing what you need you will be able to find a bike almost anywhere!

good luck! hope you find what you are looking for!!

    i wouldn't go for a 125. unless its a yz...but still its not a good race bike.

my brother races and he has a yamaha yz85.

im 5'8 and its a good size bike. not one i would ride because of the height, but if you were shorter than me go with that.

next up is the honda 150.

thats what i have. its an awesome bike.

[both of these bikes are in the mini class]

then theres the 250 and 450.

their both the same height but the 450 has a bigger motor and faster.

    [big bike class]

my friend is 14 and my height and he has a 250.

so i guess it doesn't really matter how tall you are for the big bikes, you can always lower them.

    i hope i helped!

    good luck!
