Disposal of ashes?

OK, this is a very odd situation. A friend of mine was married to a man for less than 6 months before they separated. They were in the process of divorcing, but had not actually filed any paperwork when he passed away, so they were still technically married. Her husband had no family to speak of (just one uncle who really wants nothing to do with any of his possessions). So, she is stuck with the task of disposing of his ashes. She really has no emotional attachment, but she doesn't want to be crass. Any suggestions?

When she has decided to separate from him, is more or less equal to divorce only. She was mentally prepared for the divorce and except paper work all other things were ready to file a suit against each other. There ends the matter. She is no more attached to him. The formalities to be done after a death of a person in any religion will not accept this lady to perform anything as a last duty (-Does not arise at all.-) The departed soul may not sincerely accept this formalities done by his ex-wife. These type of last rights done by somebody or anybody should be done very sincerely and affectionately and the person should be a close relative too. All these factors are not there in this case and so I sincerely feel that she as a ex-wife does not have any right to do anything for the departed soul. Whatever be the community or caste or creed or religion, the formalities and law are the same. Yours

Well as we all may not have like some one. But at death it is nice to try to do something nice to them. I all ways hope that at one time that this person did do some thing good for some one. Thing of one of the places that he like to go and spared his ashes over the ground, You might put the the urn in the ground. You could take them to a lake and put them on the water. Say pray. She did love him at one time.

She must have had some say so in the disposition of the body, so it must have been her thought to have cremation. She can call any mortuary to ask in what cemeteries they are allowed to scatter ashes.

Save him until winter, ashes are good to sprinkle on an icy walk or steps.

She could have the cremains buried. OR she could scatter them someplace that had meaning to him.
