    They are in mostly the leaves, but also the stems as well. Basically, look for green coloring. They are NOT in all cells of the plant . . . and definately not in the roots.

    Chloropyll is the green pigment that are contained in organelles called chloroplasts.

    The mesophyll cells, especially the palisade mesophyll cells. Some leafs have two mesophyll layers - the palisade mesophyll and the spongy mesophyll. The palisade mesophyll cells contain more chloroplasts than the lower spongy mesophyll layer.
