Kodak Z812 IS vs. Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8K ?

Hi! Im wondering if anyone has tested these cameras, and if they recomend one over the other. I have found both for roughly the same price, and I plan on getting one of these two.

If you own one, can you tell me pros and cons of that camera? Thanks!

I owned a competitor to the Z812, the Canon S3 IS, and considered the Panasonic FZ7 when I as choosing. I read reviews on the Canon, Panasonic, and the Sony superzom. I did not shortlist the Kodak, as I have read so many Kodak camera reviews and none have been glowing. hey are good value on paper, but always seem to have something not work very well. There are no reviews of the Z812 yet, but have a read of the Z712 review to get an idea of what the Z812 is like for build quality, menu layut etc.

Panasonic, despite being newer to photography, are producing some really good cameras. The FZ8 is "one of the best superzoom cameras on the market" according to www.dpreview.com.

Ultimately, the choice is personal. Read the reviews, and go and try both in a camera shop before you decide.

I chose the Canon because the Panasonic had more noise, and the Canon used AA batteries, which I consider an advantage.
