My External Hardrive all of a sudden stopped working. the computer wont read that its there and hooked up...?
i have tried shutting down my computer and unplugging and re-pluggind everything, i dont know whats going on and my life is on this thing-- all the pictures taken of my 16 1/2 month twins are on it, programs, please someone help!

Sounds like the power is coming on for everything, the next thing I would try is a different cable between the computer and the external drive. When you use a new cable, try plugging it in to a different port on your PC.
