Is James Clavell's Shogun the best book ever or what?

I read that sucker at least once a year!

Update:

Oh, yes, I loved Noble house, Tai Pan, and King Rat, in fact, everything by Clavell except his most recent Middle-East themed book... I think Whirlwind was the name... it's out of print and my local libraries don't have a copy.

It is one of them. Great book. You should read his others too if you haven't already. James Mitchner wrote some great ones. Sense you like Shogun so much you would love "The Far Pavilions" by M.M. Kaye. It has EVERYTHING!

He also interestingly wrote (and directed) the 1967 movie To Sir With Love, featuring Sidney Poitier and Lulu.

  • Fully agree with you, it's actually like a bible to me, have bought it atleast 7 times.... to much handling you know.....
