Author of a children's book, I believe the title of the book is Susanna,?
set in pioneer era, her family was traveling across the U.S. This was my favorite book in elementary school and would love to have a copy of it to add to our home library. any help would be awesome... thanks !!!!!!
edit: I would have read the book during the very late 70s. from what i can recall the book had mainly a red cover with yellow lettering. there was also a covered wagon on the cover and i believe Susanna was holding a doll.
edit : it is not susanna of the alamo.

How long ago did you read it, and do you remember any specific plot points? I found one of those diary books from 2001 called "Seeds of hope : the gold rush diary of Susanna Fairchild, California Territory, 1849" but I doubt you were in elementary school when it was published. I'll be back to see if you add any details.
EDIT: Could it be "Carolina's Courage" by Elizabeth Yates? I know the name is wrong, but memory is tricky sometimes. Here's a summary: When the Nebraska Territory is opened up, Carolina Putnam's family sells their New Hampshire farm. In a crowded, packed covered wagon, taking along her beloved doll, Lydia-Lou, Carolina passes through hostile Indian land and trades the beautiful Lydia-Lou for a hand-made Indian doll and earns safe passage for her family. She names her new doll, Safe Conduct.

I help them seem up the kind of books they could be attracted to and tutor them a thank you to define them. My 18 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous works complete time and the library is closed whilst she gets off paintings, so I %. up the books she requests. i prefer my little ones to be readers and understanding what they examine is all area of that.
