US budget deficit drops to 5-year low?

I scanned some sites, saw no mention of this fact. Have not heard it in the drive-by media. Could you refer me to your source material? I'd like to learn about this subject.

That does not fit the plan. Bush is not to be patted on the back for anything. Truth be told, the huge drop in the deficit just shows that there is so much money flowing in from the Bush tax cuts that even our wasteful government can't spend it all. They have raised spending to historically high levels and that is producing the defict. The tax revenues are cutting that deficit as more money comes in than expected.

Because during Bush's administration, the federal debt has gone from $6 trillion to $9 trillion. During the Clinton administration, there was an actual budget surplus for four years in a row. So having a budget deficit of $163 billion isn't impressive.

Because it's easy to be critical toward the president, but the human race in general has a tough time appreciating things.

Well since he's been in office nearly 8 yrs, saying it is near a five year low doesn't mean squat. It only means it is only slightly less horrible than it was before. Remember he started the game with a SURPLUS.

Because they simply hate him so much they can't even acknowledge when he has done something right. Simply put.
