White bead necklaces worn by baseball players?

What is with the white bead necklaces I have seen on baseball players? Cabrera had one on last night and I swear Big Popi wore one last year. I get the gold chain but white beads?

Update:

It doesn't "bother" me I'm just curious.

Here's the explanation from "The Plain Dealer", Cleveland's newspaper:

"No, that's not a pearl necklace that second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera wears. It's a necklace of beads that his wife, Lismar, made for him.

They were married in December in Venezuela. "It's good luck for me," said Cabrera."

Not sure. Guess it's the newest style in baseball!

Does it really bother you that much? Maybe it's a hispanic thing. I know Asdrubal's girlfriend made the one he wears. I think it's made of shells.

I can't say here because I'd get a violation from the politically correct Yahoo police .

Because they represent the pearl necklaces they give to each other in those quiet moments.
