well let's get it from the begining.they are driving on a cold winter night along a country road.good.the car breaks down.good either.now.before he leaves, he's telling her not to open the doors or windows and not to let anybody in.but this means he did not locked the doors or something.after he leaves, she does as he told her.when he's back, notice that the girl was dead and there was a stranger too.I can think now that as much as she didn't let anybod in, she migh be dead before the stranger get 's in.from cold or something.as for the stranger, maybe he was drunk and he was returning from....somewhere...and when he sow the car, he thought he might get warm in,so check's the car.he might have asked her, but he thought she's sleeping ,and drunk being ,tryed the door ,it opened and got in.and he sleeps over...:D this is one of my thoughts...but this is the most plausible answer, leaving the joke behind:P

She never got in the car she could not open the doors or windows the stranger came and killed her and tried to escape in the car when the man got back he saw his lady dead and a stranger in the car. Good One, impressed with that i ain't got a clue if that's not the answer.

She died of frost bite or hypothermia, the stranger notices a lone car a goes to see is they need help. The stranger then notices the doors are unlocked and the passenger is unresponsive, the stranger goes in the car to help her

she probably froze to death, theres no where in the story you said that he left on the heat, so she probaly froze to death or even commited suicide or even was on drugs. Or the stranger probably broke in the car then killed her. Or died giving birth or a stranger was waiting in the back until the hubby leaves... is this true

The man in the car killed the woman.

If she effectively didn't let anybody IN the car, the murderer was waiting in the back seat of the car to kill the poor lass.

The stranger probably picked the lock or convinced her to give him access to get into the car. This is a scary story. I hope it isn't true......
