For those of you who like to write stories...I need ideas?!?

Okay, so I am writing this story and I want my characters who are dating to get into a big fight. The guy does something and upsets the girl. But I don't know what I want to happen. All I know is it has to be big enough of an issue for them to break up over.

Here's the argument:

"No. Don't ******* talk to me" I yanked my arm away from his grasp, fixing the pillow on the couch just so.

"Kelsey" He growled

"No. I don't want to hear it. Leave. Get the **** out of my house. I never want to talk to you again." Screaming on the outside. Willing tears not to form on the inside. Turning my back, I slammed the door to my room. God, how coule he? GOD! Mother ******* piece of **** *******...God! The door slams shut. He's gone.

***

An hour later, I curl up at the base of my bed. What have I done? I can't lose him.

I don't want it to be that he cheated on her. Too boring. I want something different. I thought about him punching her friend because he thought she was cheating on her. I don't know.

Man, that is one *weird* way to write a story. You write the argument scene then try to come up with the reason for it?? But ok, I'll play...

It sounds as if she's overeacting to something. So he didn't cheat on her, but what if she finds out that he slept with a friend of hers (or hey why not her sister) *before* they got together and has never told her. He's been forced to confess now (maybe her friend hinted something) and 'Kelsey' can't cope with the idea? That way he hasn't done anything really wrong, just made 'a lie of omission' :P

Also, I have to ask, why does she fix the cushion??!

Here are some ideas for betrayal that aren't about infidelity:

Let down her family: e.g. left her crippled brother at the shops, or insulted her favourite aunt

Revealed a secret: Something embarrassing and private she'd entrusted to him

Broke something of sentimental value (or high financial value!)

Lost money or a cheque - or *spent* the money instead of keeping it for her

Killed a pet by accident or negligence

Told her a lie about himself - perhaps to impress her or hide a guilty secret.

Stole something from someone she cares about

Covered for her at her job - then failed to show up

Forgot to deliver an important message - e.g. some homework or an assignment to her teacher

If you're interested in more ideas, I have a blog article on betrayal and include a link below.

    Good luck!

she sounds like the typical spoiled brat that curses a lot and overreacts. maybe he wants to go to a different college than the one she is going to and she had their whole 'future' planned without giving consideration to the guy's dreams.

in a way they are moving away both in space and as persons. he is not mr perfect and she hates that. she will have to grow up and that is painful.

he could cheat on her, but not necessarily with a girl...

crime committing is normally fairly good
