I am having sharp pains and really red blood? Never happened before on my period?

Question

I just started my period 2 days ago. I have always had cramps on my first day of my period and always either brownish or maroonish red blood. Starting last night I started getting these REALLY sharp pains. They are not even in my stomach but down below. I have ALWAYS worn tampons and dont quite see this as a problem right now but I am not going to rule it out. I noticed today that the blood is BRIGHT red. A color that I have NEVER seen in 10 years that I have had my period. The color and the pains are whats concerning me. I had sex the day before I started my period with my fiance of 5 years so I dont know if this is something thats causing it either. The pains arent in my stomach area where I normally cramp.  Is this something i should be concerned about? I have to pee more than normal also.

well i had the same problem. but my sharp pains were not down there but on my lower stomach. turns out it was an ovarian cyst. i dont how sharp your pains were but on a scale of 1-10 my pains were a 100. i am not kidding they are that painful..you should notice if these sharp pains come during or around the time your period might come.

if its different for you and you are worried go and get checked, it may be a polyp or somethiong else bleeding you know your own body better than anyone else even if its nothing getr checked for peace of mind.
