Why are the voices schizophrenics hear always tell them to do bad things?

. . . wouldn't it be great if the voice said " go help people?"

I am a schizophrenia paranoia patient diagnosed over 40 years ago. I don't know that the "voices" do this. The first voices I experienced were associated with an almost overwhelming and ethereal feeling of love and made a statement that they had the ability to do something that seemed impossible and undesirable but nice. It was only after I panicked at the overwhelming immensity of what was happening to me that they started getting ugly.

I have known many schizophrenics and my impression of those who would talk about what they were experiencing was that they were afraid and the voices were unwelcome. I haunt this category in hopes of getting other schizophrenics to open up about what they have experienced because I truly believe the voices are not a product of their own minds and I want to explore with them what could be the source of the voices, which is unknown to medical science.

Source(s): A happy old man who is currently on antipsychotic medications and they seem to help as I do not seem to hallucinate any more. The chief reason for improvement, I think, has been the TLC of medical staff and family.

Their voices don't typically tell them to do bad things, rather the voices say bad things to, or about them.

well to me we wouldn't notice a person doing good things because they seem normal and the bad things are what people really take notice of.

They don't always tell them to do bad things. I know someone who had schisophrenia and was thought everyone was out to get them.
