Which professional sports have the best and worst playoffs?
in my opinion, the nba have the best playoffs, because it long about two months and have great fans support for every teams. the mlb have the worst playoffs, because it ends either four weeks or a month, feel a little rush, and the fans support are mediocre unless they are the favorite to go to the world series. the nfl always have great fans support for their teams and their playoffs are good and the nhl is surprise, but the ratings are pissed poor.

For the windbag who says that every division didn't have a "rep" in the NBA playoffs a couple of years ago, WRONG! The setup has always had every division winner in the playoffs, no matter the amount of divisions or conferences. The exception would be in the very early days if there was only one league with no divisions.
Pro football has the distinct attraction among the four major professional leagues (NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL) of each playoff round being one game, winners advance, losers go home. This is an attractive feature for those who don't want to meander through at least four games (in a onesided rout) and possibly seven to get to that one Sudden Death game. Though I am not particularly an NFL fan, I sure do like that element.

First College Sports are not Professional Sports.
Best System: NBA
why ?: They allow the TOP 8 TEAMS in. You Dont have to win your conference. (2 years ago not one Eastern Atlantic team made playoffs, well because they didnt deserve to. Even though all the teams came from 2 divisons and the Atlantic didnt have a rep. its ok cause the division sucked and it would of been a waste of teams in the central and southeast who would have to sit out because the atlantic is "entitled" to a rep. in the playoffs.
Worst System: MLB
Because baseball has certain divisions (AL Central, AL East) that lately have multiple teams capable of winning the world series(Al Central is Soon to produce the last 3 world series American league Reps.(all different teams)) a 4 team system of Division winners and a wild card doesnt produce a system in which all top teams have a chance, (rough schedule, tough divisional matches) to make the playoffs as a wild card, but is still better than another division winner.
Even though The cardinals won the world series last year the national league could use the teams with the top records instead of division winners so they can get truly the best team to try and stop the shortly paused American league reign. Because MLB play so many games it makes it different from football because in Football you play your division twice and 8 other teams once. You dont get to face the rest of the league as you would in baseball. So NFL teams arent playing enough games to merit a system in which Top 8 get in because Divisional Play is much more emphasised than in baseball.

Best system: NBA
just like you said, it lasts long than any other playoffs. the intensities are high. and not only does the US are watching it but the whole world as well.
Worst system: MLB
its quite unfair that only 8 teams are qualified in the playoff. and not only that, the playoff is so short. it is also quite unfair that only the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are dominating the AL East division. if only the playoff will expand to 16 teams. other team(s) from that division could have qualified.

NFL is the best. NBA is the worst. They don't even have a decent matchup until the elimination game of the series. Really, who the hell is watching games 1 or 2? They don't have anything to advertise until game 7. At least a single hit in baseball can turn a game. A single basket in the middle of a basketball game has never been the deciding shot.

Hockey has the best playoffs. Mad intensity, people playing the entire playoffs with broken bones, busted noses and missing teeth and putting it all out there night after night. Also has the best trophy (Stanley Cup) with the best history. Awesome!!!
NBA is #2, but the Spurs are soooo dull to watch.
I can't stand baseball, playoffs are more of the same dullness.

Best has got to be March Madness for College Bball and worst is either Baseball or College football the bowl games blow they need to switch to a playoff system.
