my harddrive doesn't recognize any kind of cd, how can i fix this problem?

depending on the age of your optical drive, it may need replacing, optical drives loose power over time and eventually stop "reading" discs. the only thing your hard drive has on it when it comes to optical drives is a few drivers, run a good cd player cleaner thru your optical drive just to make sure no dust or rubbish has settled on the lens

Greetings, when you say hard drive do you mean your cdrom drive cannot read a cd? Often times people try to read a cd that was written in a newer burner at a much faster speed than their cdrom drive is capable of reading. If you cannot read a standard music cd you purchased then your cdrom drive may require a firware upgrade. Search for the motherboard cd your hardware vendor has given you and reinstall the motherboard driver from that cd.

use XP CD and try to update that using XP cd ..it will recover all corrupted files and fix the all error okkkkk
