What Do You Think about Mitsubishi?

I have heard that Mitsubishi's parts are expensive and not readily available. Is it right or wrong? What is you overal opinion about Mitsubishi as a car company? I want to get a Lancer ES '08. Please, guide me.

Thanks!

I have owned two different Mitsubishi's in the past; an Eclipse and a Montero Sport. I found the vehicles to be very dependable and am actually looking at getting another Eclipse now. Both vehicles had close to 200,000 miles and only needed the routine up keep on parts. I also got a good trade in on them even though they had a ton of miles.

I've been driving Mitsubishi cars for almost a decade, the Galant, Eclipse and the Lancer. They are dependable cars and like all cars will last only if you take care of them. Traded in my '99 Eclipse for a '06 Lancer. Needed more room for family. Eclipse was slightly modded and plan on doing the same to the Lancer very soon. Parts aren't too expensive and availabitity can be a small issue. It's not like Hondas where just about everyone owns one and need parts to be constantly in stock.

Mitsubishi is the stuff! My Mirage is a '94 & still gets 50 miles a gallon. It's only 4 cylinders, but I can't tell! It's gone to many states, many road trips, and lots of around-town driving.

Are the parts expensive? I don't know, because the only things I've had to buy are tires and batteries. Nothing ever breaks (so far). I've had it 12 years.

If I would need parts and repairs, there is a Mitsubishi dealer in my city & I'm sure they are no better or worse than services of all other dealerships.

Needless to say, I'm very pleased with mine.

I think Mitsibishi's are good cars! The parts are a little more expensive, as with any import car. You probably wont be able to find parts at your local schucks or auto zone, but just go to an import shop and if they don't have the part, they will just order it and it takes about 2-3 days or so to get in! It's better that way too cause a lot of the people that work at the local auto part stores don't have a clue anyway, with import shops they really do know about the imported cars they are selling parts, accessories for! Lancers are known to be very sturdy long running cars, so i would think it's a good car chioce! Imports are known for being built better and safer!

Mitsubishi doesn't have a great reputation. I had an Eclipse for a while and it didn't get me any problems though. I'd probably look elsewhere though, unless you are really attached to the Lancer.

i had a 1995 Mitsubishi GST wiht 109K miles. I only put 300 miles on it then I got hit and it was considered totalled. I had to get new alternator and that was $130. pretty much same price for any car. Also I had to get a new key at the dealer for $11. not that it matters. i liked it alot. rough ride but thats due to the low profile tires
