Women are just more honest (maybe the man's friends were trying to cover for him)
Theory 2:
The men knew right away where the man was and covered for him (assuming they were right, which is kinda sad, considering that would be their first instinct.), and a women (fortunately) wouldn't have thought of that first thing, BECAUSE WE'RE NOT PIGS!) :]
