is there a patch to make civilizatioin 4 work on windows vista?

i have installed the patch from firaxis and it still crashes all the time around the year 2000. I don't have any of the other civ games so i can't use the auto update feature fromn civ 2. thanks

the best answer i can give you to your question is dump vista for acouple years and go back to xp pro..they havn't ironed out the bugs in vista and won't for quite a while..xp has been on the market for afew years and has a proven track record and one you can depend on...sorry to say vista is a mess right now and if you want to continue to struggle with programs not working properly for a year or so, have at it , you'll find that most are turning back to xp and wisely so..just some good advice..sorry i can't help you otherwise..good luck.

After looking at some of the user forums, it sounds like Civ 4 and Vista problems are common: You might check out this forum link and see what others have done. Hope this helps.
