What's up with my dog's ear?

I have a hound dog with big ol floppy ears. This morning, I've noticed that part of one ear has become stiff like cardboard. It doesn't seem to bother or hurt him. Does anyone know what this is?

maybe its a spetial kind of ear infection. im no cet but i do know somethings about ear infections. My old lab has had an ear infection since he was a puppy. No vets been able to cure it. Its crown into a fungus inside his ear. It may be cancerouse. For your dog it could be a small tumer. Just go get him checked out by a vet. x rays can probubly tell what it is.

Maybe fly strikes? Also sometimes floppy eared dogs get a hematoma at the end from wapping their ear on something when they shake their head. Best thing to do though is ask your vet
