Menacing mosquitoes...whats the best way to...?
.. keep them out of my house; my one year child badly needs protection against these demons called mosquitoes... I WANT AN EFFECTIVE method; I tried using coils, all kinds of mats and all kinds of liquid vaporisers.... I see that more than 80% of them are fake as the demand for mosquito repellants increased 100s of hawkers are trying to make a fast buck... please tell me the most effective way to keep the mosquitoes off house, if u have tried it and found it very effective...nets are not an alternative as my child drags them off in a moment and smoke/gases are not solution as they'd sure suffocate the child...

If all of you have chosen to sleep in one room, then you can do this:
You have to spray the FINNIT or the HIT or the BEGAON, even mixing it with kerosene for dilution and spray before to bedding the room by keeping one or two windows open! All the mosQ and even flies etc would fly away!
Now close the windows and start your sleep! If at all a few left out, you need to check for the piling of dusty waste materials including old newspapers, magazines with moisture, where they try to stay in the day time.
If it persists, have a mosQ net for your baby, which are available in colorful variety nowadays!
Additional info: All are confused on two things, as a) MosQ breeds only in dirty water including stagnant water, which is incorrect! They breed only in the clean and good water like the water in the overhead tanks in buildings! b) MosQ doesn't get you the malaria but the virus for malaria which is a parasite sits in the legs of the mosquito, which gets injected into our blood when it bites!

I actually find the All Out liquid vaporisers (that you plug into the wall socket) work well. But the best thing to do is physically prevent the mosquitoes from getting inside in the first place. Get mesh screens on your windows and possibly a door curtain at the bedroom entrance.
If you have indoor plants or pots of water or vases, always make sure that standing water is not left for long so that mosquitoes can't breed in them. Dengue mosquitoes (aedes aegypti) breed in clean water. Dengue mosquitoes also bite during the day time .. they are smaller than the malaria mosquitoes.
If I'm not mistaken the same dengue mosquitoes also are the ones to transmit chikangunya.
What else .. close your windows between say 5.30 and 8.30 pm , that's roughly the time when the malaria causing mosquitoes (anopheles) are likely to come in and bite you if they can.
When taking your kid to parks etc in the evening, make sure his/her skin is covered, e.g. socks - cos mosquitoes like the ankles don't they!
Also you can try Odomos ointment for the skin .. I can't recommend it personally I haven't used it for a long time, but my friend used it for her toddlers. I use something called Repel Mos which is a pump spray bottle, it contains DEET and I spray that on my ankles arms etc, you can also spray it on your clothes, and it keeps the mosquitoes from recognising that you are a tasty person to bite.
It's available at Health and Glow pharmacies here in Bangalore .. not expensive and I often carry one in my bag when I move around, just in case I meet any mosquitoes.
Mosquitoes are also more attracted to dark colours like black, and perfumes attract them too. Both can be easily avoided.
Citronella oil, lemon grass oil, etc. are supposed to be repellent to mosquitoes .. but citronella oil should only be used outdoors not within closed rooms. You could try lemongrass essential oil in one of those little burners where you heat the underside with a tea-candle, and pour water with a drop of two of oil in the bowl part. It may work. I'm not sure.
I don't think planting lemongrass, citronella, scented geranium etc is very useful as it is the oil from these plants that repels mosquitoes, and these plants don't give off their scent unless rubbed or crushed. Whatever you do, NEVER rub actual lemongrass leaves on your skin. I tried it once and ended up with tons of tiny cuts on my skin. Nightmare.
I use All Out but not all night, usually only if I want to keep my windows open, then I switch it on so that mosquitoes won't want to enter that room.
Flit and Baygon type things are effective at killing mosquitoes but they are toxic for us when we breathe in too. You could flit a room that has lots of mosquitoes already and keep it closed to kill them .. then sweep and open the room to fresh air to clear out the fumes that you don't want to breathe in.
I think that's all I can think of right now. Oh yes just one last thing. Be nice to bats and lizards. They eat mosquitoes like we eat rice!

Hey! I know exactly what you mean. I hate people like that. Anyways forgetting about me, let me tell you how to get rid of them. First: Get an Amethyst crystal. It reconstructs wasted auras and keeps you protected. Second: Avoid talking to this person as much as possible but do it slowly. Lastly: continue to use the crystal to reconstruct the broken aura or prepared to be broken down aura. HOW TO USE THE CRYSTAL: If it is a small crystal or cluster, bring it everywhere in your pocket of jacket. Before going anywhere with it, throw it in the shower and bath with it, let it sit on the bottom of the tub sothat the water could drain out all of the infected and negative energy. Doing that programs it to work with you in any situation, especially things like that. An amethyst is a human's best friend. Peace

hey use an electric bat yaar. go into your room and zap all the mosquitoes there with a bat. not only is it effective, its fun. make a paste out of garlic and neem leaves mix it with lots of water to make a solution. sprinkle this around your room and leave it for sometime so that all those vapours fill the room. this will also drive out mosquitoes. have a good night sleep.

BOUNCE dryer sheets!!! Use a fresh BOUNCE dryer sheet to rub gently on all exposed areas of skin (being careful around the eyes, of course). Then tuck the dryer sheet into your sleeve or pocket or collar as a continued repellant or for reapplication.
This really works and it's something you probably already have around the house...plus, you know it's safe, you use it on the family's laundry. :)

Screens for the windows will help. Citronella plants and candles with at least 3% will help.
