Why do the English feast on past and present defeats as if they are all victories ?

Win or lose the English always reckon they did great. Is this positive thinking, a case of "I'm OK and your not" or is it just bloody mindedness based on a false sense of superiority? They were lucky to get into the final. They then estimate their ability to be way above the mediocre and suddenly they were unlucky not to win. No wonder their empire contolled half the world. Come on England if you talk the talk, walk the walk. This is'nt the "Scramble for Africa" and no it is not your right.

You speak like somebody with an inferiority complex about the English. Get over it. You are the one living in the past with all this talk of Empire! England is a mixed race multicultural nation now.

Every country has its arrogant ba*tards. England as a country isn't arrogant by any means. Most people talk about the past whether it's the recent past or hundreds of years ago - look at how many people write about 'English oppression' which took place 500 years ago or more.

We tend to support our teams rather than slag others off. It's called being proud of your country, especially when they perform so well. We all celebrate our victories, such as the 2003 WC.

This take on it of yours being 'I'm okay and your not' is your issue not English supporters.

No more than anyone else proud of their team. Why? who is your team? Australia, or Scotland? 'cos you are both sour losers. I say well done the English, and congratulations the Bokke's.

the English are arrogant. No one really likes them. So 'up' themselves it's unbelievable. Not a likeable people at all.
