How does the Ateneo coaching staff pick who to give major playing time?

Why don't they get the rookies like Chris Sumalinog some shine? He plays well, and since I think he's going to eventually play big minutes anyway, why not get him seasoned early especially since Chris Tiu and the others are going to graduate soon?

Coz Ateneo wouldn't survive a fast break game. The Pumaren bros have that covered. So the logical thing to do to stop UE and Lasalle is to play it slow. By playing it slow, they need jumpshooters (Reyes, Tiu) and slashers (Long, Salamat). Besides, rookies did get playing time. Long and Baclao got some serious minutes. They just happened to fit perfectly into Ateneo's half court setup.
