Is NYC Losing It's Icons? CBGBs will hawk $300 Jeans.?

The property owner forced a NYC Icon to close. Gone is CBGBs and a Boutique will open. Should NYers boycott this place? Should we let the owner know that going for the big bucks will get you failure after failure. Should we OMFUG them?

Update:

Both great answers!

- Short and to the point

- Detailed and on Target

Thank you!

NYC is not what it used to be. It's a corporate shill. Just look at Times Square.

You can thank Rudy. I guess it's a double edged sword. "Cleaning Up" the city destroyed the city.

I miss NYC of the late 70's and 80's.

No more CBGB, Max's Kansas City, Mudd Club, Hurrah's, etc.

    No more Canal Jeans.

Hell, even The Plaza Hotel is gone.

Now you have the Olive Garden in Times Square.

    Urban Outfitters everywhere.

It's like Topeka, Ks has set up shop in NY.

    TERRIBLE.

Hell yes, boycott the boutique. CBGB's totally rocked.
