should i call the police to stop withheld numbers from calling me?
i am getting unwanted phone calls, all from a withheld number. i've been getting these phone calls for months. at first, the caller wouldn't talk, but i would hear people talking in the background, or they would put their phone up to a radio and play me music. it didn't so much freak me out then, just pissed me off. the calls stopped for a while when i refused to answer them anymore. but, recently they have started calling again. this time, IF i answer, there is no one there. and if i ignore the call, or just answer and hang up, they call again. i've gotten up to ten withheld numbers in a row. and at i get at least 4 a day. i made sure i'm on the national "do not call" list, and i don't see telemarketers calling at all hours of the night. i really don't know what to do. i'm aware i have a cell phone stalker, but i'm not sure that anything can be done since they aren't threatening me. i just want to make sure that me and my unborn child aren't in any danger. i'm getting scared. help?
since october 5, 2007 to today, october 24, i have 64 withheld calls in my call log. that is as far as my phone goes back. am i overreacting about being scared? or are my concerns about all of this warranted?

ok...first off...contact your telephone provider and see if they will help without a police report. A lot of providers will NOT provide blocked information unless a police report is filed. You may want to talk to you local law enforcement agency but without a name or anyone you suspect there isn't a whole lot that can be done.
also while you're talking with your provider, ask to have "unknown" numbers blocked. That will make it to where no one with a blocked number can call you without first "un-blocking" their number!

I had a trouble like this to my cell telephone - I called the police, and they gave me a quantity to enter on the mobilephone each time they known as which put a trace on the road. After a couple of times of coming into the number after the prank calls, they were ready to contact my telephone corporation and discover the quantity the calls were coming from. I'd start with submitting a formal criticism with regulation enforcement. You would simply call the cell company and change the quantity, however they could cost you to do so. If you have taken steps comparable to submitting the complaints they could have some sort of policy to waive the prices. Nonetheless, should you might just capture them and get the people in challenge, you would not must go by means of the trouble of fixing the mobilephone quantity!
