Gerber baby food MEAT?
I just started meats with my baby and when I opened a jar of stage 2 beef and it looks grey on the top and the lid on the inside looks grey and a little black, I opened another jar and it was also grey on top, is that normal? I didn't give to to my baby girl because it looked odd. Is that normal has anyone else seem this?

its normal, but disgusting. none of my kids would touch it, and they are all fine. you could have her try it, but if she won't eat it, don't sweat it- the more i think about it, the more i don't remember it looking like that. but i do know it is the grossest of all the foods.

That stuff is gross! I personally would not want to eat meat out of a jar even worse if it smelled disgusting, so I don't give it to my baby either. Just feed your baby whatever meat you're having with dinner/lunch that day. At 8 months, they might be able to pick up small pieces of meat and eat it like that. If not, buy a baby food mill, and puree real meat that you have cooked... tastes much better! EDIT: Hey look, we have the same name! I didn't even notice at first :)

Agreed. I remember they looked grey. You could call GERBER and report the problem. My guess is they would mail you some free coupons. Then you can buy something else. My daughter wouldn't eat any of the plain meats. She liked the combos-Ham & Pear, Turkey & Sweet potato, etc.
