What do I need to have tv on my notebook?
Besides having the right configuration, I have been told all I need is to connect a tv tuner, some have told me that having an internet high speed connection is what I also need to have. But then, others have told me that besides that I will also need a cable tv connection. If I need a cable tv connection then why would I want to have tv on my notebook!! But anyway, which is it, or is there something else I would need?

what you were told was right. You need a tv tuner add-on card which will have all the connection to connect cable TV as well as the audio ports to allow you to connect a home theatre or whatever. And yes you need to currently have cable television in your home. It doesn't come out of thin air!
An alternative route would be to just order television from one of the many websites online that offer it then that's all you have to do- no hardware changes to your lappy whatsoever.

You don't need a TV tuner card. Only a small program is sufficient.
