Consider this, where will you be and what will you be doing at age 36 if you don't go. I did the same thing at exactly the same age and was surprised to find I didn't even stick out on campus because of all the other 3? year olds there. You are never too old to pursue your dreams. I knew a lady once that taught school over forty years, retired, wented to college and got her teaching degree.

This is a somewhat loaded question. Loaded politically at least. Here's why. Technically, yes you can. 33 is a pretty young age, you have seen something in your life already, so you would be able to bring in something more than just an academic knowledge to your potential employer. So far so good... Now to the dark side. If your country does not have very strong anti-discrimination laws, you will have very hard time competing with fresh college graduates that are much younger than you are for your first job. Bottom line: it is doable, but not easy.

No way! You are not too old. I am 32 and graduated in May. I am now in graduate school. My professors told me they love to have non-traditional students in their classes because they bring real life knowledge...life experience. Non-traditional students work harder a lot of times for the grade too because we may appreciate it more. We also might influence the younger students to work harder. I know a lot of younger students who said it drove them nuts for an older person to do better at school work. lol
My advisor told me, "the greatest thing about America is it is the land of second chances"...think about that and then make your decision. We only live once, you might as well go back to school and see for yourself.
I have had 80 year olds in my classes. It's kind of weird sometimes because some of the students are a little immature, but you have to remember that you are not there to impress anyone, you are there for a degree.
It's not too late to change careers either.
If you want, just take a couple of classes at first and go from there. After I went back to school at the age of 28, my sister who is 36 and my mom who is 52 also began going to college. They are making A's in everything...they are totally kicking butt and I'm so proud of them. You will be amazed at how much you will grow as a person too when you start back to school. It's an awsome journey for sure!

No! I think a lot of people around your age and older don't consider continuing education because they have too many responsibilities (marriage, kids, careers, bills) but you are absolutely never too old. I just got out of college and there was a fair amount of older students so I think it's becoming more common now.
There are also more universities like University of Phoenix, National University, etc that are geared towards older, working adults. Good luck!

You are absolutely never too old. It might be more difficult than when you were younger, you might have more responsibilities and conflicts in time now than before, but it is never too late to go back to school. You are likely more responsible now than you were when you were younger anyway...what I have seen in my own classes at 22 is that the older students tend to do much better because they are more focused and understand the importance of their studies. You are never too old! Go for it!

I met a guy last weekend who is 40 years old, has 4 sons, is married and has a full time job, and he got accepted to UC Berkeley, the number one public University in the world and extremely hard to get into....he got accepted as a freshman and has completed one year.
It is never too late.
