The song "The Man Next Door" on Massive Attack's album - Mezzanine - was written by members of the cure.

Was it their song or did they write it for Massive Attack?

It's not actually a Cure song written specifically for Massive Attack.

What Massive Attack did was combine a song by reggae artist John Holt with a sample from "10:15 Saturday Night", an early track by The Cure. The song had been in existence long before Massive Attack even formed.

The vocals were done by a guy called Horace Andy:

So the official songwriter credit for the track is: "Man Next Door" (John Holt, Robert Smith, Laurence Tolhurst, Michael Dempsey).

Robert Smith, Laurence Tolhurst, Michael Dempsey were all members of The Cure when "10:15 Saturday Night" was written.

    Confusing, eh? : )
