1997 Chevy Malibu V6 Motor Mounts?

This is prolly a dumb question but I was told that I need all 3 motor mounts replaced. I am trying to find prices but I don't know the name of all of them or what I would ask. Most places just say one price or some say it says 3 are listed but we only have 2. So I figure if I know the names it will help. One place said I need my left rear engine mount but when I look that up it says left front but no rear. So I am a little confussed. If anyone can tell me what they are called it would help. I was told one place I need all three then the other place only listed lower front mount and left rear engine mount. Thanks.

Front wheel drive cars have a motor mount---sometimes one...sometimes two, a trans mount and usually an engine torque strut or mount...I'd call or go to a dealer to find out what mounts you have on yours...they can give you names and show you pictures of them and pricing. Mount location is sometimes confusing...does a front mount mean the front of the car or front of the engine which is sitting sideways? Same for rear...which can also mean a trans mount. Then call around to other shops for pricing to install them or parts stores to get them yourself. Parts stores may call them by different names or have a variety of options to choose from. Best to get the info first from a dealer if you're not sure.

your most likely have a front and rear motor mount. there is also a transmission mount that may need to be replaced. if you know someone who is doing the work it would be good to change motor and trans mounts but if your taking to a shop the will most likely charge an arm and a leg to do the work and charge top dollar for the parts itself. if ya live anywhere near me i would be happy to do it for you at a very small cost
