Do you wait or even read the camera specifications & online camera manuals before buying a digital camera?

Unfortunately my finger is hurting & I cannot answer every camera question posted as there are literally hundreds of digital cameras being sold.

Go to the manufacturers website before listening to some salesperson in a department store.

Going to a genuine camera store compare models & then buy the same camera for less somewhere else.

What is the best quality cheap camera?

Its basically a quality camera that has been reduced in price.

Its a camera that has the features & quality youre willing to pay for.

When next years new camera models with super dooper megapixels & other features come out.

The prices on older camera models will drop in price. This smaller price drop starts in November.

Larger clearance prices are usually in Dec. or Jan. all the way through March. (more expensive DSLR cameras take longer for a price drop). Watch & Wait!

Keep your eyes open you'll need to be patient & watch the prices online & in the ads if you want a quality camera for less.

Update:

Pointer...Memory should be slightly faster & able to keep up with the cameras ability to write to the memory card.

You dont want slow memory bogging down a fast camera.

However fast memory for a slow camera could be a waste of money as well.

Yes, I do. I would also suggest that folks read reviews on CNET (cnet.com)- not just the editor's review but the user reviews as well (I find these most helpful). User reviews on circuit city's site are also helpful.

When looking for camcorders, I would also suggest taking a peak at camcorderinfo.com.

Lastly when purchasing on-line, watch out. There are a lot of shady dealers out there that use bait and switch and other tactics. The following site will help you find a reputable reseller: resellerratings.com

No one is asking you to answer every question about cameras on this site or any question for that matter. You make your own decisions about what you do or don't do. So does everyone else. If they choose to do research by coming here and asking a question, well that is what this is for isn't it? Other people read other reviews, visit other web sites, go to the store and talk to actual people. I'm looking for my first DSLR and I've read so many reviews and technical specs that my head is spinning from all the information, pardon me if I want some first hand information from people who supposedly know what they are talking about.

I will read how cameras tested versus one another in performance including lens. I will then see what kind of reviews it got. Then if I can't decide say between two cameras I would read the specs and ask opinions on Yahoo Ans!
