Can you download songs for an apple ipod through limewire?

I was told that you HAD to use i-tunes, is that accurate?

Update:

P.S. I do pay for limewire [just wanted to add that in there][=

You can download the music through LimeWire, or any other source.

Then, go to iTunes and select import tracks (or something similar) and they will go into your iTunes library. Then, the next time you connect your iPod, the music in your iTunes library will be transferred onto it.

Whoever told you was partially right - you have to use iTunes to get the music onto your iPod, but where YOU get the music from doesn't matter :)

    Hope I helped!

just know which folder you have then in and go to itunes and hit ad folder to library, then find the folder you saved the limewire songs in and your all set!

As long as it is an mp3, I think you can store it into the computer and then convert over to itunes.... I think.
