Switching Procesors?

I have a laptop with an ok processor but i have a faster processor that is almost 2x the speed of my current one. would the faster processor from the desktop fit into the laptop. also would the processor get too hot to be in the laptop? thanks.

Update:

ps- the old processor is a celeron M and the new one is a pentium 4

sorry but a celeron M and a pentium 4 for a desktop use a difrent socket type to connect to the computer's motherboard. however their is still hope for a cpu upgrade. the best way is to contact the laptop manufacturer and ask them what the upgrade options are for your machine.

NO they are not interchangeable! Laptop processors are slower because they produce less heat and use much less power too.
