I am looking on the internet for records of the previous owners of my home?

Can anyone tell me where I would go to find such records?

You might find some information, but not all. You will need to visit the county courthouse to get a complete list of whom has owned the home.

Call your local title company such as:

    Chicago Title Company

    Fidelity Title Company

    First American Title Company

Ask for Customer Service, then simply let them know you are interested in this information. They are so kind and get questions like this all day long. They love helping people, its their job! With this information it will tell you what year the previous owners purchased the home, for what amount, etc. Occassionally it will have a phone number. If you are interested in contacting these people... tell the customer service representative that you are wanting the previous owners mailing address. They will give these public records free of charge, and it just takes a few minutes. Very easy, I've been doing this for years. You are sure to find success if you follow this guideline. Good luck :)

If your county has their tax records online you can look under that . Most of CA is online.

zillow.com has some records too, just choose "tax information" and it will be there if they have it. They tend not to have everything.
