Will my account be closed when not used?

I havent had access to my Yahoo account for more then a year, because I was stupid enough to forget my password, and I do not have the correct information on my account to get a new one.

So will it ever get deleted? or will it just stay there without me being able to access it?

( I would hope it gets closed so I can start a new one with the same nick )

Update:

But if it is deleted... then shouldnt I be able to open a new account on that name?

When I try to do that, then I get a message saying that my name is already in use.

Update 2:

It makes a difference to me.. because I want to make a new account using the same nick.. and it says I cant because its already in use.. so I guess its not terminated ... I dont know..

If you haven't used the account in over a year then the account is deleted. If you had a Yahoo! Answers on it it will never be deleted. It is set up in a different program apart from the mail and all other services. You will never be able to gain access to it.

Once an account is deleted the ID/e-mail address is not available to you again. This is part of what the deletion page states.

In most cases your account will be deactivated and then deleted from our user registration database in approximately 90 days. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity. Additionally, due to the limited number of names available, we may allow (other users) to sign up for and use your current Yahoo! ID and profile names after your account has been deleted.

Yes!. Accounts are deactivated and removed after four months of no use.

When an account is deactivated, you won't be able to access it, regardless of whether or not email has been received in the account during that time.

And sorry, but we can't retrieve any of the information that was formerly stored in it.

If you can't get the pass word then it makes no difference if it is closed or not. It is closed to you so get another one and forget about it.
