in ms word how can apply the same settings of some word to another word?

I read somewhere that there is a tool which can do that. I changed some setting of colour and underline in a word and need to do the same to atleast 50 + words more but how? I think there is some brush tool...??

It is the Format Painter. On your "Standard" Toolbar (Vew>Toolbars and select "Standard"), there should be a small paintbrush looking icon (default location is between clipboard (for items you have copied to your clipboard) and your undo icon.

Select this icon (if you click once to select it, it will apply the formatting only to one set of text; however, if you double click it, you can apply the formatting to multiple locations of text and then turn it off by single clicking it again).

This can also be done between multiple documents by selecting the formatting you want, and if you have the other document open that you want to apply the formatting to, and just switch windows.

This tool is context sensitive, so if you want to apply paragraph formatting to another paragraph (such as indentions, space above or below, tabs, etc.,) click in the left margin (to identify the paragraph) on the first line of the paragraph, select the format painter, and then click in the left margin of the paragraph that you want to format.

If you want to apply multiple formats (paragraph and text) to a text block, it is important to apply the paragraph formatting first, then the text formatting.

Yes, it´s the one to the right of Paste in the toolbar.

Place the curser in a word with the desired format and dubbelclick on the brush. Swipe through the other words one by one and they´ll change to the new format.
