Yes, I've been once. It was a few years ago for the 50th anniversary of Hank Sr.'s death. It had its good moments and bad. I was actually kind of pissed off at it. They billed it forever as the first time that Hank Jr. and Hank III would be on the opry stage together for the first time. Hank III came out and played two or three songs, then Vince Gill and The Whites came out and played twice as long as III. Then Jr. came out and blew me away. Then for the final song with everyone they never asked III to come out, but they made sure to ask stupid Vince Gill and The Whites out. Just last month I was talking to Joe Buck, who is Hank III's bass player, about the show. He said the opry people told Hank and them they would only be allowed three songs, and not allowed to come out for the final song, because no one had practiced together and they wanted to limit the chances of the final song messing up. He said that he, and III was very pissed and raising cain in back because the show was about Hank Sr' and the Williams family, not Vince Gill. I have not liked Vince Gill since then, and have learned he is the biggest prick out there.
So yes I've been to the opry, and could really care less about it in it's current state. I do wish they would reinstate Sr. to the opry, not for the opry now, but for what it was then. Hank III on his new cd coming out later this year or begining of 08 has a song on there called Grand Ole Opry, I recommend that people check it out. Tells you all you need to know about the corrupt institution.

Unfortunely I haven't been to the Grand Ole Opry... I can't wait for the day I can make it their. That place is like the promised land!
I have been to the old KC Opry (in Independence MO), it's a far cry from the Grand Ole Opry though I'm sure. But from the stories I heard it used to be quite the place to go back in it's hayday. I did see Clint Black and Garth Brooks way back when before they were big. Clint was good... Garth on the other hand stunk, we even left during his performance. That was the start of my dislike for Garth.

Saw the Opry as part of my fan fair trip in 1993. Had listened to the Opry as a child and it was a dream come true to go to the live show. Saw lots of the old timers that I had heard as a child but remember George Jones and Lorrie Morgan the most. There was a tribute to Conway Twitty who had just died the week before during the show as well.

Last time, probably about 8 years ago. Saw Charlie Pride, Jean Shepard, Jimmie C. Newman, The Whites, Vince Gill, Jeannie Sealey, Stonewall Jackson and a bunch more...one group was called Fire on the Mountain or something like that. They were there promoting a musical that they were in...All of them played every instrument on stage and sang & danced. They were really good.

Have been several times, starting around 1975 and every year or two until 2007. Have seen lots of great ones...I especially liked the staff band and Carole Lee Singers. I have been lucky that it has always been a good show when I went. I even saw Gene Autry there....Porter led him onto the stage. Lots of memories....wish I had videos of all the ones I attended.

YES! I went there and saw Jerry Lee Lewis back when I was much younger (between 10-15 years ago). He put on an amazing show and I still remember it vividly to this day! I am a avid piano player and admire his work, so I brought a piano book to the concert hoping to have him sign it. Well, Jerry Lee not only signed it, He took me up on stage and let me get my picture taken with him sitting at the piano bench! I will cherish that experience until the day I die!!!

Been there, done that many times and even got them Goo Goo clusters. Have seen so many I can't even begin to count them. Been to Branson too. I just wish the opry was the way it used to be long before it left the Ryman.
