Is there a way to make tempura style food in the oven rather than frying it in a pan?

My family enjoys it when I make tempura for dinner, usually with chicken or fish, broccoli, onion, etc. I usually fry it after dipping it into the batter. But it takes so long, and is very messy. Does anyone have any easier oven-based ideas?

it wont be the same.. but you can try battering lightly, placing on baking paper, and spraying with spray oil before baking. Give it a try!

no you can not do tempura in the oven..and deep frying shouldn`t take long at all.... i have a deep fryer and it take 3 minutes for about 10 chicken tenders at a time.. i just keep the oven on warm and when i am done frying a batch i put it on a cookie sheet lined with paper towel then put it in the oven to keep warm while i do the rest.. tempura is to fry.....

If you make it in the oven it will no longer be tempura.
