So....Will the Sox go after AROD?

Seems very likely to me. Trade Manny and make the other team also take Lugo(of course we will take on some of Julios salary). Sign Arod and Mike Lowell, having Arod play SS. Jocoby plays left field and leave Coco in center.

i doubt it. Every winter, Manny always asks to be traded, but it never happens. I dont think the Red Sox will trade Manny. The Sox probably gave David Ortiz a big contract and JD Drew signed with the for a good amount too. The Red Sox, in my opinion, doesnt have enough money to get ARod, but i'm guessing they would like to get Arod though.

I think it would be a good idea to sign a-rod if he isn't a one sided player only focused on his statistics and not the team. Also i think if we get him we wan't him to produce in the playoffs or this team wont wan't him. I say we sign lowell and play him a third and get rid of Julio(not that i don't like him he is just not produding like a-rod did) and put a-rod at short. Keep pedrioa, youk, manny, ortiz, drew, and tek in the same places and throw jocoby in center or play him as a sub out-fielder and put crisp in center. The rotation will be Beckett, Dice-k, Clay, Lester and Wakefield. If the red sox sign Schilling again you can throw him in there and put Clay or Lester in the bullpen. This will be a very deep red sox team next year.

I think there is alot to say about the fact that A-Rod has never won a WS. He does not get along with his teammates and that does not win World Series. He is a pre madonna and I think the Red Sox would be crazy to sign him.

And how about the timing of his "announcement", Who would want someone on the their team who HAS GOT TO BE the center of attention and the headline all the time. He is not a team player and I don't think they will sign him. They will re sign Lowell and let someone else take on the burden A-Rod brings into their town.

its a dumb idea. Arod at $40+ million per year will totally disrupt that team. Manny is the best clutch hitter in the game. You are trading that for the worst clutch hitter, especially in the post season.

The combo of Ortiz and Manny is lethal. If its changed you totally kill what the red sox are. Since adding Arod to the Yankees they have been a completely different team from the late 90s and 2000.

First of all, nobody in Boston wants A-rod? The fans don't make the decision, just because the fans don't like him and don't want him doesn't mean he won't wear a red sox uniform. And anyone saying they don't want A-rod to come and join the Red Sox lineup is crazy. A-rod is a great hitter and player and just because you think that he is a selfish player and cares only about him doesn't mean anything, because we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I could be wrong he might be all about him, but who knows? Unless your on that team with him, you don't. The Sox are crazy if they don't go after him, that would be one heck of a bat to add to the best hitting lineup there is.

To whoever said something about salaried of the Yankees and Red Sox, the difference is about $60 million dollars, so no matter how badly you want to say that boston is just as bad as NYY it simply isnt true, nor is it even close. Also no one in Boston wants A-Rod, the ones saying that he might come here are the media. The fans were chanting last night "dont sign A-Rod" during the celebration at Coors Field.

He hasn't played SS in a while, but rumors here have him going to the Angels,or Cubs,Maybe the Giant's,The Giant's freed up alot of money by not resigning Bonds. But you never know boston does need a SS,Belive me if the price is right arod will go anywhere. The Yankees said they WILL not get into any bidding wars for him! Hal Stienbrenner said he can WALK!

Why do you want to ensure that the Red Sox won't win another world series???

Arod is a cancer, why does that only seem apparent when he's on other teams?

You'd be helping the Yankees and hurting your own Red Sox in one move.

I guess you are a Yankee fan then.

Also, Manny can't be traded, he's on waivers every year, never gets a bite.

Think about this you Bosuxs fan. I heard this during ESPN and one of the broadcasters mentioned this. The even say Lowell will win MVP (I don't know what his average was during the sweep). Personallly, I think they did that has a reward because he might be leaving the team when the season begins anew next year. Also, isn't Lowell will be a free agent at year's end and is a third baseman. Ironically, enough A-rod is a 3rd baseman and he wouldn't get that SS position. Also, Epstein probably have the funds to get back A-rod. If that happens then A-Rod is in deep crap when he comes back to Yankee Stadium. Enjoy
