Pinch harmonic?
How do you do a pinch harmonic on electric guitar. I have alot of music with them, and I know how they sound, but I have no idea how to do them.

when picking normal you use the pick so that it hits the string flat. to get a pinch harmonic turn the pick so that it is almost striking the string on the side of the pick... also the gain needs to be high on the amp to get the sustian. pressing down into the string (with the pick) as you pick may also help. the tone of the harmonic will change by where on the string the note is pinched. it is easiest to pich a note when picking between the pickups . I use low on the mid range EQ that also helps in bringing out that type of sustain . also when I use pick size 73mm they seem easier than with size 88

exactly what the first two say, but I would add this- try it at the twelfth-fret open harmonic first to get the technique down, and then try it in other positions. And it is more difficult on the B and high E strings.

You position your finger on the fret as you normally would, but with your picking fingers, you kind of choke up on the pick with your thumb and strike the string with the pick and lightly hit the string with your thumb as you strike the string on the follow through. It has to be one quick motion, otherwise it'll just deaden. So hit the note normally, but kind of touch your picking thumb on the string as you pick the string. It's obviously hard to explain, but you need to practice it over and over and it'll just start working.
