What are some good reasonably priced shows and places to eat in Las Vegas?

At the Riviera there are inexpensive shows. Depending on what night, it may be a comedian or a hypnotist. My wife and I saw a Hypnotist when we were just there and it was very funny. I found a coupon for 2 for 1 tickets so the show cost us about 30 bucks for both of us. I would rate the content of the show as a PG-13 so it wasn't offensive like some of the others.

If you like Neil Diamond, Ryan White also does a show there, we've seen him in the past and really enjoyed him. I think those tickets are around 45 each. Didn't see any coupons, but I wasn't looking for his show this time.

There are some good afternoon shows that you can get "free" tickets. The catch is you have to buy at least one 8 buck drink for each. We saw Ronn Lucas a few years ago,He is a the Luxor now. It was very funny. He's a ventrilaquist. Very clean show.

There is Mac King in the afternoon, didn't see him. I wish I could have. I've seen his comedy magic on TV. He is one where you can get "free" tickets to ...

P.S. Look for the penny slots at the circus-circus called Hot Hot Super Jackpot. You can win 15 free spins in a bonus round. Had lots of luck on those where ever I went. And Circus-Circus was one of the best places.

Places to eat, there are so many. Price ranges from cheap to out of anyone's price range. We tended to stay with buffetts. But we did have a great meal at the Golden Nugget downtown.

We also like Batista's also known as "the hole in the wall" It's a small Italian place that is quite fun to go to. Prices there were about 11 bucks on up. It's near Bally's just off the strip by about a block or so.

Some advice from a local. There is a real good restaurant in a small casino called Ellis Island. It is located on the street behind Ballys. Inside they have a plain restaurant the is actually called "The Restaurant". Their food is really great and the prices are very reasonable. To have their BBQ ribs or Chicken you have to sit outside on the patio but worth the trouble. Great tasting food.

Also most of the casino on and off the strip have 24 hour cafes. The food is usually very good and always good prices. Off the strip of course is cheaper. If you use McDonalds, Burger King ... etc. you will find you will spend as much or more there than if you go to one of the 24hr cafes and the food will be much better.

For a great show that include dinner try the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur. They have a fantastic show that include jousting knights .. high energy and they serve a great meal medieval style. No eating utensils .. must use your hands only. It's a lot of fun and it costs around $50 each but that does include your meal. Two shows nightly and they are usually sold out so buy your tickets as soon as you get here or order on line now. Worth every penny.

I go for the magic shows. I've seen almost every magic show on the strip. (I was short on time and money last time I went.) Even a cheap magic show like Mac King Comedy Magic is worth the time. It's at the far south end of the strip so it would be a long walk from Circus Circus. By the way, the only Burger King on the strip is hidden in back of O'shea's.

Go to Ellis Island, off the strip 1-2 blocks behind Bally's. They have a $4.95 steak special that can't be beat. I really enjoy it. Also, if you're willing to share food the Peppermill is located past the Wynn before you get to the Riviera. It is a old timey looking diner that is open 24 hours a day. They have wonderful food and huge portions so definitely share something. The diner is family friendly, the lounge in the back is not. There are also plenty of food courts around if you want to go cheap by eating fast food.

A fun place to eat is BATTISTA'S HOLE IN THE WALL, an Italian Bistro located across Flamingo Blvd from Bally's. Battista's offers inexpensive entrees with salad, soup, garlic bread, and all the house red and white wine you can drink (included). There is an old guy that strolls around playing the accordian and encourages people to sing along ("When the Moon Hits Your Eye Like a Big Pizza Pie, That's Amore!"). Better check it out soon, though. I heard that it is finally closing sometime next year...

As you're walking down the strip you'll see some ticket booths that sell tickets at half price. So you can check that out.

As for dining. Go to vegas.com and check out the dining section. It'll give you options as to what price range you're looking for when eating out. And remember....they do have lots of fast food places there. Oh yeah....if you get thirsty and want some water....they sell a HUGE bottle for like $2 in this small store next to the M&M World. Your eyes are going to pop out when you see the prices for H2O. Almost $5!!

when I went to Las Vegas I saw Dirk Arthur's extreme magic at the tropicana the price was very reasonable it was 2 for 1 and the show was good. I ate at Harrah's buffet they had decent food and a wide variety. enjoy your trip.

The Improv at Harrah's is a great time. It's not too expensive either. They had 3 different comedians come out and perform. HIlarious time! Afterwards, we went and hung out the piano bar in Harrah's and watched the Kareoke. A great and inexpensive, laugh-filled night!

Get a comp card. You will get points for your gambling. Use the points for getting a discount for the buffet. Most places you will have great buffet. I am talking about three and four star food.
