This is my first year doing fantasy basketball.....HELP?
I am in 2 leagues. One league we have starting..PG,SG,SF,PF,C,Utility, If the league is set up to change rosters daily then do you put in your players that play on that day? If so, what if say I only have 1 player playing and my opponent has 3 players playing, then obviously he would get more points. Right? I am so confused. In another league we have no bench players and our starting rosters consists of 8 players. If I have, for instance, Kobe, and the Lakers play 5 games this week, and my opponent has KG, and the Celtics only play 3 games this week. Do they take the avg from all games combined for the week? If we have no bench players should I, the commisioner, change the settings to "weekly" roster changes? Please explain to me how this works. Everybody in the league are rookies at FB. THANKS
Jess - Tahnks fir the input. I would never change anything unless agreed upon by all. I dont understand then If I am playing a head to head format with no bench players then should I play daily or weekly roster changes? Why?
Thanks again. Everybody withinh the league has agreed that if a player gets hurt and you have to drop them for someone else then when that player returns from the injury then the original owner has the rights to him if he wants him back. For example. I drafted DWade. He is out for about 2 weeks. I dropped him and got Iguodola. WHen DWADE returns I have the rights to him and get him back.

DONT change the settings without asking the rest of the league, you may upset someone. They probably joined BECAUSE the settings were the way they were, and they liked that.
The percentage stats are averaged out, the others (pts rbds, asts, stls, blks) are totalled for the week.
In a DAILY league, you just plug in the best players each day. If you have an empty spot available, and you got a guy on your bench, start him.... you shouldnt have ANYONE being benched (unless of course there's no more room on your roster)
In a WEEKLY league, you have to take more into consideration. You can only set your roster up ONCE (starting monday-sunday) so you have to see who plays more games, for instance if you got these 2 guys on your team, let's say Brent Barry and Luther Head, Barry plays 3 games this week and Head plays 5, you might want to start Head, he SHOULD get more stats from playing more games.
let me know if you still need help, I'd be glad to help.
to answer your details question, it's up to you on what you choose to do.. you said there are no bench spots, I think you should add one or two. What if someone gets hurt? you should be able to fill in the gap, there is no IL in fantasy B-ball anymore (I dont know why).
do you want your managers to be able to change their lineup every day? then go with daily.
if you want them to submit lineups once a week, then go with weelky.
once you go weekly, you put your lineup in for the week, and it cannot be changed until next week.
