With most service provider's family plans, for example, two lines at 69.99 a month...?

do both people pay 69.99 a month each or they can divide it and each pay 35 and 35?

(Sorry if it's a dumb question)

And another thing, is it the same with every service provider's family plan? IE Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint... etc.

Not every service providers price plans are exactally the same, but they are getting more and more similar. I work for verizon wireless. Our basic family plan starts at $69.99 a month for 700 minutes shared between 2 lines, You can add additional lines (up to 3, with a total of 5) for $9.99 each. We also have select and premuim plans. select plans include unlimited text, pix, video messages and IM. Premium plans include all of the above as well as v-cast internet access, vz nav (audiable turn by turn directions) and mobile email. Our price plans do start out at the 700 minutes and go all the way up to 6000 minutes. The important thing to remember is to start out with more minutes then you think you need then less, because overage charges are extremely expensive. And, with verizon you can now change your price plan at any time with out extending out your contract. You can always have two different people pay a bill (online, over the phone or in the store), but we can only send the bill to one address. You can always view your bill online or even sign up for paperless billing. You really have to trust the person your doing this with because it is a two your commitment and i've seen a lot of people get burned. your credit is not something to put into someone elses hands. I hope this helped! you can always look over calling plans at any service providers web page.

The account holder is responsible for the debt. If you sign up (and accept the liability/expenses of) a shared plan, you can have your mother/brother/roommate/whatever "pay" you for some of the play, but you are still responsible for any charges they occur. If they don't pay, the debt is in your name.

Family plans vary by carrier. Check with each if you want to sign up someone who is not related to you.

In general, it is a BAD idea to accept someone else's bills/debt/phone obligation since you are responsible for their debt if they stop paying.
