Are you able to put a key in the passenger sid door of a 05 Colorado?

Question

My truck does not have remote power locks and no provisions to unlock the door from the outside. I feel bad when I pick up my girl and can't open the door for her. I have to open the driver's side and reach across to unlock the passenger door and by the time I go around to open the door for her she has already in the truck. Is there any way to add a lock cylinder to the passenger side?

Since they don't make the door handles for the passenger door with lock cylinder holes you can't add a lock cylinder.  Like the other answerer said you can add on a keyless entry system.  They will install everything so all you do it push a button and the doors are unlocked.  Probably cost around $150.  Call your local stereo/alarm installation place and get an estimate.  For that price your girlfriend will love it!

Instead of spending the money for all that just go get an alarm installed on your truck. you can get a simple keyless entry for around $100 and you can shop around and get some cheap accuators for the locks.

actually there are a few aftermarket companies that are now making a kit to correct this idiotic oversight by chevrolet.if you go to Sport Truck Magazine's web sit they have listings of aftermarket companies that offer the kit. they addressed this problem in an issue a couple months ago and they did the conversion with step by step instructions.
