Safe Mode (I'm only referring to Windows operating systems) is generally a troubleshooting-mode of starting-up your computer.

There are different Safe Modes from which you may select.

Basically, Safe Mode starts up your operating system with the most basic, most minimal drivers and processes, again, to troubleshoot problems with your system's performance.

Many of your computer's components may not work while in Safe Mode. Certain programs may not function at all, or not work correctly while in Safe Mode.

Microsoft explains this mode pretty well, in my opinion.

If you want to boot your computer in safe mode then follow these steps:-

    1. when computer starts then press F8 key (continuously).

    2. A menu will appear.

    3. Here select Safe mode.

The main benefit of Safe mode is that:

In Safe mode the computer will load those drivers which are essential for doing a work. In other words, it will start with minimum functionality which is required to start the windows and perform some essential functions.

There are many options in conjunction with booting in safe mode but you should no choose any other option unless you know those properly as they can be harmful for your computer.

When you boot if safe mode you turn off all software but windows, making it easier for you to make repairs or to install a program. To go into safe mode, when you restart your computer or are turning it on hold down either your F5 key or F8 key it depends on the brand of computer that you have.

Safe mode is an option to load up the operating system in a "minimal" configuration. This means that it runs only the bare essentials of Windows and device drivers. This allows you to troubleshoot problems that might be happening in Windows.

It depends on your system type to determine how to enter safe mode... but on most that I have dealt with, you tap on the F8 Key when you start up your system.

    Hope that helps.

Safemode is just mode of windows where minimal drivers and applications are loaded so that you can troubleshoot software problems.

Safemode can be used to uninstall bad drivers, or remove spyware that was booting with your computer.
